Husky head flopping

I have a Husky seat for my 3 year old son but his head flops all over the place when he falls asleep. I can't seem to find anything at Babies R Us that would support his head. Does anyone out there know of something I can buy that would work with the Husky? My next step is to take little tiny travel pillows and try to sew them onto something so that I could put it around his head.

Thanks!

Oh, and no, I don't have the recline bar installed (although the seat is latched and tethered). He won't have any leg room with the recline bar in. Do you think the recline bar would make that much of a difference?

My son Keaton, who just turned 6, has always been a car napper. When we still had his Husky, I tried it both with and without the recline bar after Britax OK'd its use without it, and for him it made a world of difference in sleep support when intalled WITH the recline bar.

As you mentioned, this really cut into his leg space, too. He sat in it second-row driver's side outboard (captain's chair) in our Mercury Villager.

Would your vehicle allow you to try it in a different seating position for more leg room?

What vehicle do you drive? Does your seat back recline? If so, you could recline the seat back just a little to give him more recline.

I have a 2003 Subaru Forester and unfortunately the seats don't recline. I loved that feature in my Honda CRV but I traded it in because I liked some of the safety features in the new Foresters. I can't put him in the middle because one of the "options" the car came with was an elevated storage compartment inbetween the front seats that seriously cut into hi legroom. He kept kicking the thing so I moved him to behind the passenger seat.

I love those head rests that UlrikeDG showed but I can't find anything like that in the US. I will keep searching though. I think I will try the recline bar next and see how that works out. I hate the thought of reinstalling that monster!

Thanks for all of your help!

Try BRU or TRU

I have seen "mini-boppies" that look similar to what Ulrike's site showed. I had one about 2 years ago but returned it because I didn't know if such a device was recommended. It was under $10 though.

I put my 3 yo dd in her brother's Super Elite and she got all upset about halfway through our 1 hr drive, and said, "I can't reach my brother's seat!"....meaning the sides were too far away for her to rest on, of course. Anyway, we found this huggable roll http://www.bcfdirect.com/IWStoreBCF...ection_Id=1117&pcount=&pn=3&Product_Id=262300 and she really liked it, it really is perfect as a "bolster" in that seat...and she wants to use it as her nighttime pillow, too, she likes it so much!
