trouble fitting carseat

I am about to move my 8 month old into a convertible car seat. I tried the Alpha Omega, rear facing, could not get it tight enough. I have 95 nissan altima and have had lots of trouble fitting seats securely. Have taken twice to certified installers, first time fit forward facing great, only way they could get it in securely was to let it be out of balance according to car seat level. Am thinking of the Britax roundabout, but not finding any info on compatibility. I have become quite good at installing the seats securely, just don't know which seat to choose. Thanks for any help you can provide.

A couple things to try-

If you haven't already, please check the "Compatibility" link under the top banner. Altimas from 1994-1997 are generally pretty similar, as I think the first major redesign came in 1998.

The best option is to try a carseat before you buy it; many stores will let you use a floor demo to check for fit first. If they won't, just make sure you have a good return policy. Then you can try it out to make sure it fits well, and perhaps even have it checked by a technician again in case you need to return it.

The Roundabout is a great seat and is pretty easy to install in many cars. Even so, it is possible you could have an incompatibility just as with other models.

Good luck!
