recommended for 2000 Odyssey

My daughter is a very tall almost 3 year old. She has been using a Roundabout until now, and her weight is O.K., but I just noticed that her shoulder is above the top harness setting. I need to get combo/booster seat, and I am confused about what I should look at.

The Britax Marathon is nice, but I don't really need a seat that goes from 0 to 65, just from 30 - 80 lbs.

Consumer Reports recommended the Fisher Price Grow with Me because of the open-loop seatbelt guide, but apparently this seat has been discontinued. Other seats that I have looked at on line don't mention what kind of seatbelt guide they have, and I can't always tell from the picture. I want to find the safest possible option, preferrably with the open guide, good padding, etc. and that fits a 2000 Odyssey well.

Any recommendations?

About Consumer Reports-

First, you can use all boosters safely in your Odyssey. If you lock the shoulder belt by pulling it all the way out, the child can't pull slack into the belt at all. That means they will be safe in any type of booster. Also see:

The May Consumer Reports should be out any day, and will have a new Carseat review section. Until then, also see Ulrike's favorites:

Good luck!

I have a Century next step

Hi, I have the same problem as you-tall thin child. Mine is only 2.5 though. When she was 1 we bought her a Century Next Step for our second vehicle which she does not ride in often. We got it because it actually goes from 20 lbs-which she barely was. We have never used it as a belt positioning booster, as she is only 38 inches tall and under 30 lbs. Her shoulders are at the second set of slots when she isn't wearing a jacket. I can tell you she really likes the seat, which I think is half the battle. The straps are more twisty than on a roundabout, but manageable. I would avoid the Cosco Eddie Bauer-I never knew what people were talking about when they said twisty straps until I tried to buckle a friends child in one. It took a good 10 minutes to untwist the straps so that I could pull the straps tight. The shoulder slots are also low. When my DD outgrows her current seat I am going to get either the Britax Star Riser, Graco Turbobooster or Juniper Komfort Cruiser (which ever DD likes best) because I like the open loop style better than the belt positioners on the Next Step. This is a personal preference. I have read that CR somewhat exaggerated the "slack introduction" problem. Since your belts will lock once you pull the belt out all the way and let go there isn't away to introduce slack that I can see.
