Nissan Versa

Has anyone tried the Regent in the Nissan Versa? I saw on the list Nissan has that the Blvd is a good fit, and that is what my dd rides in, but it didn't list the Regent. I'd like to keep my son in his seat rather than moving to a booster, but I have to find something as new as possible, as small as possible and as reliable as possible. My husband and I are splitting up and I am leaving him the car since I can't afford it. If anyone has tried it I would appreciate the input. I'm not planning on bringing my kids with me car shopping so if I don't have to install it at the dealership it would be helpful. TIA.

This is complete speculation, as this is a rather new vehicle. It's hard to tell for sure until you're actually trying.

You'll need to use the SBP and seatbelt at his weight. This can be tricky with forward of the bight seatbelts or those with overly long belt stalks. It looks like there's a little of both going on in this photo that I found. The buckles might be a little long, but look like they can be twisted if necessary. They are a bit forward of the bight, but certainly not the worst I've seen. Unless you or your passengers are super tall, he should have enough leg room. I'd say you have a decent shot at getting an acceptable install with a Regent in that car. Although, it will likely render it a 4 passenger vehicle.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through a rough time. Is buying brand new really your only option? There may be other cars that will fit your family while still being reliable and safe in a bit lower price range.

Thanks for your thoughts on it. I resigned myself to 5 pass vehicles becoming 4 pass when we bought the Regent ;) The reason that I am going with new is the important factor is the pmt, not the length of the term. To get a used in my monthly price range (at least in my area) seems to be bringing up a lot of vehicles with 75,000 miles + I am keeping an open mind for used and will be looking at them too, but since this is the only new vehicle that is an option for me I was asking specifically about it today :) Oh, and I will most likely only rarely even have another passenger (my mom) and she is only 5'4" so no problem with height. Thanks so much for the help!

Saw this only now, 6 weeks later...

If you do install a Regent in a Nissan Versa, I'd love to hear how it fits. As my baby grows into his older brother's seats, I'm considering updating to a Regent...

I drive a Nissan Versa that I bought new this summer, and have thus far found it very easy to install our:
* Britax Wizard (FF with seatbelt, RF with LATCH)
* Britax Roundabout (RF and FF with seatbelt)
* Graco Snugride (RF with LATCH)
* Sunshine Kids Radian80 (FF with LATCH)

FWIW, I found this car to be the second easiest to install seats into (after the Mazda5, which was too expensive and big for my tastes) when I test drove small(ish) hatchbacks and wagons this summer...
