RFing on the plane- what has worked for you?

So I am currently ON a plane, next to my sleeping 18 month old who is buckled into a Roundabout 40. We are flying again in January 2014 for a cruise, and I'm just wondering what the heck else fits RFing on a plane! Her seat is touching the seat in front of it, although not so much that it bothers the passenger. This seat is really perfect for travel but she's close to outgrowing it now, there's no way she'll still fit by our next trip.

Maybe the Peg convertible? (which we have but not with us) The reason I want her RFing is more for comfort, I mean she will be just over 2 so if I HAD to FF her on the plane I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I can't see her falling asleep like that.

I've used "classic" Britax convertibles (big ones - marathon, boulevard). They definitely touch the seat in front, but they fit okay. A (current generation) Britax convertible would likely fit even better. IDK about a Peg convertible.

I think it makes a big difference which airline because of the seat pitch. On southwest a radian fit RFing with an angle adjuster (it was touching the seatback), but I don't know that it would fit on other airlines (and haven't tried).

I flew Southwest with a newer gen Britax Advocate for my son when he was 2 and we installed it RF with no problem. I think it did touch the seatback in front of it but it wasnt an issue.
I would do it again with the same seat if i flew again : )
