I believe that if you move to the USA (as opposed to visiting as a tourist) you will need USA seats. That is the case here in Canada

Isofix is different from LATCH but you should be able to do a belt install on a temporary basis until you get US seats.

When moving to Canada, I think you have a 3 month grace period before you are required to get CMVSS approved restraints. I would imagine that the USA would be similar.

There is no grace period here. Once you are here, even as a visitor, you are subject to our laws. In practice this is not enforced on visitors as long as the kids are appropriately restrained much, but would be if a resident got pulled over- IF the cop knew what to look for.

That's a big if. Several of us have been pulled over with illegal seats and not had them given a second glance.

So, the legal thing to do would be get new seats. If however you took some time to do that you most likely wouldn't get caught (if you do you're risking a ticket and points on your license.)

Now, the question. The spacing is the same. Many vehicles here have anchors that might be difficult to use due to positioning. Cybex made LATCH guides if you can find some...

Out of curiosity, what seats do you have that you want to continue to use? Boosters with ISOFIX or what? :)

It's technically illegal to use EU seats in US although no one is likely to notice. Isofix seats will work very nicely with LATCH. This applies to both FF and Rf seats. Most seem to consider Isofix easier to use since it's rigid.
