1995 Subaru -- back seat has no head rests, center has only lapbelt

I'm starting to feel that my older Subaru is not safe. I have two kids, DD is 11, and DS is 8. DD rides in the backseat without a booster, and the seat back comes up to about the bottom of her ears; I worry about enough head support for her in the case of an accident. DS rides in a...

DD does not like her new Britax Parkway...what are other tall HBB suggestions?

DD is really bothered by the secureguard clip :( She is tall and has a long torso. Because our '95 Subaru wagon does not have headrests in the back seat, I'd like her to be in a HBB as long as possible.

Need help deciding on a combo booster!

Please bear with me; just when I think I am close to a decision, I find another option. If anyone can offer input, I'd be very appreciative! DS (5 yo, long torso, 44 lbs, 45") needs a new seat. FYI, DD is 8 yo, long torso, 70 lbs, 53". The seats remain mostly in their respective vehicles, as...

5-pt seat vs. HBB for 5-year-old?

DD has outgrown her Britax Boulevard (in the car we use least.) She rides in a Graco Nautilus in our minivan, which has worked great so far. However, DD is tall (46.5")and has a long torso. She weighs 43 lbs. Is a five-point harness always a safer choice versus a HBB? Just trying to decide...

Britax Boulevard : I think DD might be too tall for it?

She's been in this seat forever, but today I realized the harness height needed to be raised a ton. I turned the knobs and raised it as high as I could, until it couldn't turn any more. It is still to short for DD (shoulder straps still below her shoulder where they come out from the back of the...

    Starting a thread on "swap"

I'd like to post because I'm ISO a harness, but am told I am unable to post.

Oops -- I just cleaned Nautilus straps with an enzyme cleaner

Shoot--I didn't even think about it. Just doused the seat with a Nature's Miracle type liquid because there was vomit in every single nook and cranny imaginable! All over (and under and in) the straps, cover, buckles, etc. I'm assuming I should order new straps? I tried to call Graco but they...

Britax Companion in fant seat -- ok to use without head protector?

Sorry, not sure if "head protector" is the correct term... I'm wondering about the inflatable piece that goes around baby's head. Is it ok to use the seat without this part? I loaned the seat to a friend and when she returned a bag of hand-me-down baby clothes, the "head protector" for the...

Britax Advocate 70 CS versus Britax Boulevard

Can anyone tell me about the Advocate? We bought a replacement Boulevard (70) from Britax because our old one has a harness that does not adjust easily anymore. They gave us a deal of $100 plus $25 shipping. HOWEVER, it arrived today and it's an Advocate 70 CS... At least, that's what the box...

Replacing a Britax Boulevard -- go with a new Boulevard 70 or something else?

We will be replacing DS's Boulevard because the harness does not adjust easily anymore. We are just out of the warranty window, so Britax cannot replace it for free, but they have offered us a new Boulevard 70 for $100 plus $25 shipping. Is this a good seat? A good deal? Another seat we should...

She's too tall for the seat, right? Photos inside

I just installed it a moment ago, but all of a sudden DD looks too tall (I think) for her Blvd...

    non-locking ELR two-point vehicle belt??

What is it? I'm trying to install a Britax Blvd in the center (FF) of a 1995 Subaru wagon. The center position has a lap belt only--that does not retract. I'm guessing I cannot install in this location, per Britax manual (do not use with non-locking (ELR) two-point vehicle belt.)

    Graco Nautilus vs. Britax Frontier?

I think we've narrowed it down to these two for our DD: 3 yrs old, 40 inches, 32 pounds. She has a long torso. She's FF in a Britax Boulevard in our 2009 Toyota Sienna; the new seat will be for our 1995 (non-LATCH) Subaru. 1) I've heard about the Nautilus being a problem for some due to a...

I guess we need a new convertible - help?!?

It's been a few years since I needed to purchase a carseat, so I'm not up-to-date on the best ones... Our main vehicle is Toyota Sienna, with both DD (3yo) and DS (3 months) in Britax Boulevards. We had DS in a bucket, but he hated it, so we tried moving the Blvd from our other car (Subaru...

Where to put toddler vs. infant in 2nd row Toyota Sienna (7 pass)

We have a 2008 Sienna, 7 passenger, with the second row captain's chairs. The passenger side capt chair has been moved to the more center location (leaving room for passengers to access the 3rd row more easily.) We have had our toddler RF in the passenger side chair--we now have baby #2 on the...
