It looked really uncomfortable. I did not change the harness around and put her in it completely, so it is inconclusive. I did not like the look of her in this seat compared to the seats she is in now. Does anyone have any experience/issues with this seat, or was it missing a pad or something?

I was considering the monterey (if only it came in blue, lol), the probooster, the parkway sg, and anything else.
I had planned to get a start, but they seem to be a thing of the past.
So now I am looking at the zurich and the moonbeam patterns. Has anyone seen these in person? I would really like a memory foam or "deluxe" version. On a google search, some said that zurich had the memory foam, others did not. It looks like it has those pillows on the side and the head.
I think ds would prefer blue, but he will be more happy if it is comfortable.

Any advice? Ds is almost 8, 52" ish and 52# ish. All leg. Has maybe 1/2" left in nauty, but freaks out about his shoulders being squished. I had just planned to convert it to a hbb.

Hello, I am trying to decide which is the safest option for my 5 yr old son in my sitter's car. She drives an older Jeep Cherokee w/ no top tethers. She will be picking my son up from school 1-2 times a week (10 min, in-town drive).
Son is 5 yrs old, 42 inches, 35 lbs. He has always been in 5 pt harness seats and will remain so for at least another year in my car. But, for the sitter's car-- which is safest? A harnessed FF seat (Maestro is the one I was looking into) w/ no top tether or a HBB, even though he is under 40 lbs? He is well behaved in the car and I believe he has the maturity to sit well for short rides. But, he is slim and I worry about the safety of a booster at his size.

I would appreciate your thoughts and any links to research on this that you can share.
5 y.o. DS, 42 in., 35 lbs. (rides in Decathlon & Nautilus in our cars)
2 y.o. DD, 33 in, 23, lbs (she rides RF in all cars, so tether is not an issue for her, Marathon in my car and Scenera RF40 in sitter's)

I need some reccomendations for her on seats that will last until she's ready for a booster. Her mom knows she needs to be harnessed even though she is over the legal minimum of 40lb, so at least I don't have to fight that battle, but she doesn't want to buy a new seat.

I was talking to her today and her hope is that dd will start to thin out soon and not keep gaining??? I do feel for her when she is having to buy size 7 clothes for her just turned 2 year old.

So I started a new job today with 4m old baby Peter, and 3yr old Izzy, and the first thing I did was show Izzy her new seat!
A My Ride 65 in Prentis, Rear Facing, and she loved the green :)

She attempted to crawl in and needed a little help, but after that I adjusted the straps and buckled her in. The first thing she did was stretch out her legs and said she felt like "Daddy in his Big chair." (a recliner, lol).

As we are driving through the neighborhood, she remarks at how it's cool:cool: to see "backwards" and she wishes she could sit like this in Mommy's car.
(On that note, her mom once told me it was her gift to her kids on their 1st birthday to turn them around:eek: I don't see that as a gift )

As we are driving back home from the store I notice her head is lower than it was originally and I realize she has fallen asleep!! It's a 10 min drive to the store and she had just woken up an hour ago! :)

All day she kept saying things about the RF seat and how "cool" it was that she was just like Peter, who is of course rear facing in a Graco SS1. Later on we took a half hour drive and she took a 2 hour nap in the seat, which has never happened with her in the car that I know of :2thumbsup:

Her stats are as follows: age 3 on Sept 18th, 38 inches tall, 14.5 in torso, and 30.5 lbs., she is on the 2nd from the top slots on the MR.

Just wanted to share!
Thanks! :D

She's...

I need a new seat for my dd.
Despite being tiny, she's all legs and has run out of room in her Signo.

I need something under $200, that will fit in my Mazda3, be nice and comfy but still pretty upright (we take LONG road trips and she gets carsick), and HOPEFULLY kinda cute. lol.

She's 2.5 yrs old, 20-21 lbs, and 34in tall. She will be RFing until at least 4 yrs old ..but I dont think that's a concern because she wont be outgrowing ANYTHING at her size. lol.

Oh, and my dh wont lay a hand on anything that feels 'cheap' when it comes to carseats.....so...keep my picky dh in mind. lol.

What would you recommend?

(I tried just switching my kids seats..giving her the RNXT to RF in and giving my son the Signo to FF in...but I just can't get a good install with the RN in this car. It rocks FFing but doesn't work for us RFing. I wish I still had my VW Passat!!!! The RN installed like a dream RFing in that car...sigh...)

Thanks!
