Hi, I just converted from Marathons to Frontiers. Other than a stressful install, I am liking them OK, and the boys are digging the cupholders LOL.

I do NOT like the flimsier, more twisty straps. To me, that was one of the selling points of the Marathon over cheaper seats -- the straps.

I also miss the little velcro nubs that let you slap the straps against the sides, let the child sit, then have the straps ready at the go. And that kept the buckle from sliding into the dark lagoon under the child's butt.

Would it compromise the safety of the belts themselves to install a couple of adhesive Velcro buttons to the strap & the seat, to emulate the setup in a Marathon?

Thanks.

I don't see why it would compromise anything it's just a couple little pieces of velcro.

Bump.

anyone else? Would it matter if the velcro was sewn-on?

I would be fine using the sticky back velcro to keep the buckles from sliding down the straps, but I would not sew anything onto the harness. I think it would compromise the strength of the harness.

My dd went from a marathon to a frontier this week and didn't buckling the frontier. She says it's so much comfier than her frontier - and it probably is, she's a pretty big 5 yo. I was shocked though to find her shoulders above the top harness height. Her older brothers torso's didn't outgrow the marathon until after 7.
