Hi everyone,
I am considering trading my car in and test drove a Volkswagen CC today as 4 years and two Beetle's later I am almost over my emotional attachment with the sweet bugs. When I looked at the back seat of the CC I was not convinced the vehicle seats are too car seat compatible. They are pretty "sporty" and deep. It looks like forward facing would be ok but I couldn't see a rear facing seat installing well in there.
I do not have kids but I Nanny/babysit a few hours a week- not full time anymore. I also have a 12 month old baby sister who rides rear facing in my VW Beetle currently. I own a Roundabout for my car. I know it may seem silly as I don't have kids but if I buy this car I will have it for a while and will more than likely still be driving it when I have my first child/children.
I asked a manager dealership about the car seat compatibility and his answer was "German engineers wouldn't make a car that wasn't safe for kids it has those car seat things" and then proceeded to try to sell it to me today while my Beetle was being serviced! On that note I decided to consult you guys!
I know the Passat is very child friendly as I had one as a rental when my car was being worked on for a few weeks last year- I loved it but for the same price I can have the CC and it's just so much more of a car for a similar amount of money.
Any input would be appreciated greatly as I don't know where else to look. I haven't looked at them yet but I am going to view the Audi A4 next week- any feedback on car seats with the Audi's would be useful too.
I have come to terms with the fact that it's almost time for a "grown up" car and my fun Beetle years are almost at an end. It only fits two seats in the back- the only stroller that fits in the trunk is the Peg Aria which I hate more than anything in the world! and with Olivia in the back no one can really sit in the passenger seat! Oh well- I've loved every minute of being a Beetle driver but I'm ready for more space!
Thanks everyone!
