Ok we have a 04 Pilot but underneath the front seats are different so I need some help on finding a good spot in the 07 Pilot.
This is where I have it now but the d-ring could slide forward - though I don't think it would since it is pulled tight but still I don't know if it is safe

This is the other side - just posting so you can see the seat w/o the tether

I thought about the spot that is circled but I wasn't sure about the strength of it - although it seems to be bolted and it is metal.

Thoughts and suggestions on where to tether.
Thanks

Have you checked your manual? That looks an awful lot like a tether anchor to me that you've circled in the last picture. I wouldn't use it unless the manual says it's ok, but I couldn't think what else it might be.
Otherwise your tether looks ok. To do it to the track is not ideal, but if you don't move the seats forward or back at all then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. What about around the leg of the seat? If you slide the D ring under the plastic is there a leg under there to tether to?
Curious about that metal loop, though.

Steph,
I had the same issue and lodona65 posted some pics for me. It was all captured in this old thread: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=8970
I was able to get the tether on the seat rail, but I never took a pic of it. If you need me too, I can take a larger pic when I get some from work this evening!
I never noticed that bolt thing in your third pic. Is that on the driver or passenger seat? I have my MA tethered to the front passenger seat.

Colleen-
You have to pop the plastic part off (the one that you had tethered to originally) - I had to do this with the 04 too, with the tether there it doesn't fit back on but you can put it back on when there is no tether there (I guess what I'm trying to say is it doesn't break it). We just stored the piece in our garage.
Now as for where it is tethered now does it matter that I can slide the seat back and forth? I mean it can go forward or backward w/o affecting the D-ring, it's just that when you go back it makes the tether tighter because the back of the seat comes back and makes the tether tighter (does that make sense at all?).

pretty much everything in the pic is metal - I removed the plastic piece to see under the seat. So I'm not sure where you are talking about? I'm checking my manuel about the metal loop, I will fall off the couch if Honda actually made a place to tether rf!!!!!!! I didn't think any cars had that.

I'm going to have to check that out that bolt thing. Let me know if you read anything in the manual about a RF tether spot!
Look, I took one of your pics and drew a red circle on it where I have my RF tether. I was able to slide the D-Ring in the small gap between the metal piece and the plastic piece. I am able to slide the passenger seat forward and back without it hitting the D-Ring. And I don't have the problem you mentioned above, where the tether tightens if you move the seat back further (and conversely the tether probably loosens if you slide the seat forward).
ETA: If you want me to take a pic of my RF tether, let me know. I actually was able the thread the D-ring through with the plastic cover on. I didn't think about popping it off like you did! LOL

I like that I could leave that plastic part on too!!!
I have to check my manuel still - I won't be able to until later...but I'll be back with an update!

That would be so cool if that were a rf'ing tether anchor!! My Saab 9-5 wagon had a rf'ing tether...I was *shocked* when I read in the manual that it had one!

Saabs and Volvos do, but they're Swedish, so of course they do. :-) I've heard that some Fords have them? The Windstar maybe? It would ROCK if they were starting to show up in Hondas. Definitely let us know!!

Did you have any luck moving your tether to the spot I circled in red on your picture?

I don't see anything in the Honda manuel talking about a rf tether spot:(
However, they do give the 5 pt test to tell whether your child is ready to move out of a booster....that's at least good. Though I wonder how many people actually read there manuels (at least those who wouldn't already know the 5 pt test!!!)
