View Full Version : Weird Spacing Issue

This is a minor thing, but it's bugging me.

In one of my threads, I wrote the word "adjuster." This morning, it is showing up as "ad juster." (Here (http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=94263), post 6.) (This might also be a good time to ask how I link to an individual post.)

Tail end...fine...fine...fray...fray...fine...fine...ad juster

So I thought I must have accidentally hit the space bar.

I went to edit the post, but that text is showing up properly: adjuster.

So I erased and retyped the whole word. Hit save.

It's still showing up "ad juster."

Help! It makes me look illiterate!

I'm seeing it correctly, both in the title and in the text. Do you have a second computer to try?

I see the space, but when I quoted the post the space went away.

Click on the #1 (or whatever) that denotes what post you are on up in the right corner. It opens as a new post on a single page, then you can copy and paste it .

Oh, I see the 'ad juster' space, too, you must've confused it's tiny computer brain somehow :p

Darren, did you check the correct post? It looks normal in my first post. It's in this one (http://www.car-seat.org/showpost.php?p=953129&postcount=6) (trying out the tip from jools!) that it looks wonky.

I see it now. Yes that is weird. If anyone notices it again, please let me know!

I bet it's something to do with the ellipses.

If you put a space between the last set and the word adjuster, does it still happen?

Ah! That took care of it! Weird!

I bet it's something to do with board software. If you had a word that long, with that many characters, I wonder if it does the same thing. pretendthisisonewordthatisreallylongandhasnospaces orlinebreaks

And yup, it puts a space in there. I know it's been explained before (not sure if it was here, or elsewhere), but I can't remember the reasoning.
