When involved in this kind of crash, I don't think safety ratings even come into play.
This happened near me yesterday afternoon. Makes sure to scroll down to look at the pictures. You can't even tell what kind of car it was. :(

Yikes, scary. :( You're right, it's hard to tell what model the car was without the article's description. Without the description, the only clue for me that the car was a Honda is the rear wheel visible in the photo.

OMG :eek: When a vehicle goes airborne there's not much you can do :confused: So scarey & sad :(

I look at it this way-

The standard crash tests from the NHTSA and IIHS are well known and understood by the automakers. If a manufacturer didn't even bother to design a vehicle to do well in all those well known tests that simulate the most common types of crashes, what hope to you have that it is designed well for less common types of real-life crashes that may vary?
