View Full Version : Another Rental Question

My car may be totaled after last weeks accident. The other guy's insurance is supposed to pay for a rental car.

Is there any car that people DO NOT suggest for use with carseats?

I've got one kiddo to seat, just over 2. Our MyRide was crashed, so we may use the AOE RFing in the rental for extra safety, or I may have to borrow Maezde's Wizard, OR, just use a harnessed booster seat (yuck.) The only seat option able to RF is the AOE due to Jo's weight.
I am a smaller person...just over 5 feet tall. This makes most vehicles difficult on ME as well, as my face is often on the steering wheel, lol.
Oh, yeah, I'm also preggers.

I DO NOT know what rental company I can use and I DO NOT, therefore, know what would be available to me to rent.
Just looking for the things to stay away from!

Thanks for any help possible

A harnessed booster is not any more "yuck" than a forward-facing convertible.

You really often have very little choice. The big companies all have pretty new cars so there's not too much to worry about. Obviously, you want a comparable car so push for the biggest you can get.

Typically, it's Enterprise simply because they concentrate on the insurance accident rental market much more than the others. Enterprise has all sorts of cars. I'd try and avoid a Chevy Aveo if possible. Other than that, they're all pretty much the same to me.

Well, I went to go rent a car, but the other guy hadn't made his claim!

Argh.

So no car yet...maybe Friday?

They did say (I had to go with Enterprise, as they are the only rental in MA that will rent to someone under 21) that they were planning on renting me a Nissan Versa.
I told him I had a kiddo to put in a car when he asked, of course.
My "totaled" car was an old Nissan. I hope they drive similar. I liked mine so much because I'm so short...Nissan really makes for short people!
