New vs. old Audi A4

My lease on a 2006 Audi A4 is just about up, and I was about to switch to a larger car because the front passenger is TIGHT with a Graco Snugride behind her. However, I have been reading reviews of the 2009 A4 stating that there is more room in the back than before. Can anyone comment if the new A4 is any better with the carseat? Thanks!

Update: I tried the seat in both cars today and there is no comparison. In the A6 the passenger can be very comfortable and there is much less maneuvering to get the seat in and out. The new A4 seemed just as tight as the old.

Not sure about the difference in the cars, but I had an A4 with my son. One thing, the snugride takes a lot more room up then a convertible believe it or not. With the snugride, it's really important that you're not touching, and you need the correct 45 degrees, and the handle back (depending on model). A Convertible looks a lot larger, but because you can install it a bit more upright when the child is older, it seems to fit much better.

I did eventually make the jump to the A6 wagon... which had a ton more room.

Also - you could install in the center... you might get a better fit there for the girth of the seat.

The new A4 seemed just as tight as the old.We have an Allroad, which was based on the A6, and there's tons of room for car seats, even a RF Radian. :) We had an A4 before, but that was pre-kids. It seemed pretty small to me.

I don't know the answer, but our dealership let us test out carseats before we bought a few years ago... If you get an answer let me know. My kids complain about the legroom.

capeKO71 - I see you are a CPS Technician. Can you confirm your quote above? Is this true? How much more upright can you go?

The True Fit seat has a red line near the bottom of it which stats something like 'when rear facing, this line to be parallel to ground.'

I'd love to mount the seat more upright and be able to use it RF.
