Did any of you see today's episode of "The Shopping Bags" during which car toys were tested? The family who volunteered to test out the toys had two kids- a six-year-old (?) and an eight-year-old (?). They had a big van-like SUV and put FOUR people (The two kids and the two adults who test out the products) on the back bench. It did not appear that ANY of the people were wearing seatbelts. Plus, they kept switching positions on the bench, which means they were moving to a different seating location WHILE the vehicle was in motion!!

The younger child definitely should have been in a booster. It was hard to tell about the older one, but it certainly wouldn't hurt her! But no seatbelts???

It is on the Style Network.

I know, it is pretty sad that I am watching TV shows like that. This is the first time in about 15 hours that I have been able to sit upright for more than 1 minute (I am pretty sick), so I have been laying on the couch watching mindless TV. :o :p

I don't know the show, but I'm wondering if they were maybe on some sort of private set or something? Or were they on like regular streets?
If they were on some sort of closed set, I can see them getting away with no belts....butit's still a bad image to put out there!

If you want, there's a "Media Watch" form you can fill out and send to SafetyBeltSafeUSA to report media misuse of seats (or praise the rare example of proper usage). The form is available from SBS's site at: http://www.carseat.org/Events_Media/89_MediaWatch.pdf
