View Full Version : Frontier Installation Question

I have a question about the Frontier for you. We have an '06 Honda Pilot and installed two seats in the third row this morning - a Marathon and a Frontier. There isn't LATCH back there so it's seatbelt installs. We got the Marathon in nice and tight, but the Frontier is being a pain. We got it tight enough so it doesn't move side to side or front to back, and it's tethered. But no matter what we do, you can grab the bottom front of the seat and lift up on it, and it comes up off the seat a couple inches. I'm not really sure how this is possible because the seatbelt is pulled as tight as we can possibly get it, but it's still happening. Is this a problem, or is the seat fine since it doesn't slide side to side or front to back? It was giving me a near panic attack this morning so I gotta know if it's okay or if we need to change something!

Also - I didn't notice anything in the manual about using a locking clip, and I don't think my Frontier came with one - am I supposed to be using one?

Thank you!

Nevermind, I fixed it! Watched a couple videos and tried the long belt path again (had originally thought the belt was too short for it) and I got it buckled and it's rock solid in there now. :D

Good :)

Also make sure the recline block is flipped forwards

Did the videos answer your question about the locking clip?

Yes, I think so - I don't need one, right?

In an '06 vehicle, the seat belts lock on their own, so you're correct - no locking clip needed.

I realize now that back when my first was born 4 years ago, I was using a locking clip for no reason. We had an '05 vehicle and did a seat belt install, and I always HATED trying to jam that stupid clip onto the belt. Wish I had known then what I know now! :o
