Hi All,

I have an evenflo Aura and a 2007 Santa Fe, and it appears that the seat system is too big for the vehicle.

The base installed properly in the back seat (and this site was very helpful in addressing a minor angle issue) using LATCH, however there does not appear to be enough room to snap in the baby-carrier part of the system unless the front seat is moved almost all the way forward (toward the dash board). In other words, the baby-carrier part of the system won't snap in because it is obstructed by the back of the front seat.

Has anyone else had this problem - any idea's on how I might be able to fix this short of getting a different seat system (or vehicle).

Thanks,

NM

I have a few suggestions that may help. First, I would install the base in the middle of the back seat. This allows the seat to sit between the two front seats. Second, check your manual for acceptable positions for the handle. Most infant seats allow the handle to be all the way down (the position that makes the seat sit still on a flat surface) while in the car which makes the seat shorter overall than having it just behind the upper edge of the seat. As far as I know, no Evenflo seats allow the handle up in the car. Third, try changing the angle of the front seats instead of the position. If they are more upright, there is more room for the seat in the back without sacrificing leg room. Hopefully some of this will help, or someone else will have more ideas for you.
