We were rearended yesterday, so I need to replace the Signo DS was riding in. I do not like that seat for rearfacing, it's a pain to use. I'm thinking that I want one of these two seats, I'd rather get the one that'll last the longest, and DS seems bound to outgrow almost everything by height before weight. We have an older Radian, and I love that seat, so I'm really leaning towards the XT. He has lots of room above his head there to RF yet, and it fits well in both of our vehicles. But I've heard lots of good reviews on the Truefit as well.
Does anyone know how the heights compare on the two seats?
Any other pros/cons that I should be aware of?
Does the headrest on the XT push a kid's head forward? (thinking FF here)
If it helps - DS is 31 mos, about 39", 31.5 lbs. His torso is too long for him to RF in a Marathon or MyRide, and I'd definitely like to keep him rf'ing a while longer.
We have an 'extra' Marathon that he'll ride around FF in until we get the new seat.....have to work out everything w/ the insurance company. Even if they won't pay though, or only partial, I have no problem paying the extra towards a better seat. (I know the XT costs more than the Signo....if they pay the replacement cost of the Signo though and we make up the difference, not too bad). The TrueFit costs less, if the insurance company buys it themselves and only will buy equal or lesser value.
