I read a review from a parent who said she couldn't securely install a Britax Frontier in the second row of her 09 Honds Odessey (which I just purchased last night). She said she called Britax and they said they could only get a tight installation in the 3rd row. Have you technicians had any trouble installing a Frontier in the captains chair 2nd row of an 09 Odessey with the seat belt(by the way, my daughter is 50 pounds). Thanks

Hi and welcome :) We've had a few other mothers ask about this. The answer is YES the Frontier can be installed successfully in the 2nd row of the Odessey, so no worries. The Frontier is a fantastic choice
And either the long belt path or short belt path can be used to install the Frontier.

That review is just plain *wrong*. That seat installs brilliantly in that seating position, and you should have no problem getting a proper install. Here's even a video of the long belt path that you need to use as soon as your child hits 40 pounds and the LATCH is no longer acceptable for installation (per the Frontier manual) http://carseatblog.com/?p=2386
Odysseys are some of the easiest cars to install in, because the captain's chairs can be reclined, uprighted, scooted forward and back as needed

Hi,

I drive an '09 Ody and I'm a tech. I had no problem at all installing with LBP in the Captain's chair 2nd row (though it's currently installed with LATCH - I just wanted to see if I could do it and tried LBP the other day). You do really have to kneel in it though - I find the seats so plushy that they have a lot of give.

I had no problem with LATCH in the 2nd row captain's chair in my '09 Odyssey. Long belt path could be done but was a bit more difficult (but I have difficulty getting any seat to go in as well with the seatbelt as they do with LATCH).
