I cant get my nieces Scenera tight. Im no pro at all:( I installed it FFing and got it super tight. Is it just because its RFing it moves a little more. Any tips?
Here are some pics of it. How is the recline? This is in a 2007 Honda Odyssey in the rear passenger side captains chair. Sorry idk how to attach the pics. How does it look? If you would like to any more just ask :)

First off, it's Scenera. :p
Are you using both the seatbelt and LATCH? If so that's a no-no. You need to use one or the other.
And are you using the tether rear facing? If so that's a no-no.
In terms of angle, it looks fine. It can be as reclined as 45 degrees or as upright as 30 degrees, depending on her age and development.
Can you roll the towel a little more tightly? Or opt for 3 chunks of pool noodle instead? (if you find the towel hard to work with on leather).
To get the seat installed tighter, stand overtop of it, and use your tummy to push down on the Scenera while you tighten the LATCH strap (I just went back and read and see you posted saying you're using both LATCH and the seabelt -- not good. So I'm going to suggest you first try LATCH and see if using a few tricks will help). Make sure you're pulling the tail end of the LATCH strap at the correct angle so that it can tighten. And make sure you have the cover of the Scenera lifted up so you can see what you're doing.

Yes, as stated, you cannot use both latch and the seatbelt, and if the seat is tethered, you cannot tether it either.
Try installing it with just LATCH. When you get it in as good as you can, run the part of the belt you are pulling on back into the belt path, and pull sideways/parallel to the ground. Make sense? If not, I'll try to explain it better.
Also try to roll the towel tighter, it does look a bit loose.
How are you checking for movement? You use one hand and tug at the belt path and expect no more than 1 inch of movement. If you are pulling on other parts of the seat, yes, it will move.
Good luck! let us know how that works, and go from there.

The scenera is a pain rfing. I found it MUCH easier with a pool noodle then with a rolled towel. You can find them at target, walmart, kmart, etc for a couple of dollars. then just cut to the length you need.
And to reiterate the pps, latch or belt, not both. I found that it was hard in some cases to use the latch with the scenera because the base was a bit wider than the latch anchors. So that could be a problem. I also got in the seat and kneeled in it while tightening to get it tight enough.

After you have pulled the LATCH or seat belt as tight as you can, pull back the corner of the cover (at the bottom) so you can see the belt path. Then grab either the tail of the LATCH strap, or the shoulder portion of the seat belt right inside the shell (close to the buckle). Pull up there. You should be able to get it much tighter then.

We don't have the option of LATCH but the Scenera is such a pain RFing that I can not get it installed in the center of my car by myself at all. (I went to a car seat check and it took the official installer SO MUCH WORK to get it in that I did not feel bad that I could not do it.) I am not comfortable owning a seat I can not install myself, so we have finally decided to purchase a Roundabout 50 instead and use that. I will never again buy a seat without checking if I can install it in my car myself.
I do hear the Scenera is easier forward.

I agree with the others. :)
Just wanted to add a link to a site with videos showing how to install with either the seatbelt or LATCH.

Also, here's a link about using seatbelts to install car seats:

i just wanted to add to this thread (in case anyone searches it in the future) that I've never had a problem installing my Sceneras RFing--they are fairly easy RFing installs for me. It may just the specific vehicles I've had, but I don't think it's UNIFORMLY a terrible seat to install RFing. Just wanted to clarify in case someone gets scared off from buying one, when it's a great budget seat. I have 2 of them for occasional/grandparent use!
As for FFing, I just installed one FFing about 1 hour ago, and it was a 1 minute install, including the tether

Here are some pics of it, if anyone is interested. I would have it more upright but its hard to reach the harness adjuster

Just adding...
Like Ruth, I haven't had issues installing a RF Scenera in my Honda Civic. It takes a little more time than installing my other seats, but it is not impossible.
