Hello,
Just wondering if there is a latch retrofit for a '97 Pathfinder? And if there is what the part # would be?
Thanks,

You can't retrofit LATCH but you can add a TT. My DH had them added to his former '97 PF at no charge by Nissan Canada. Not sure what the part number was. Someone with a LATCH manual might be able to help you.

It's the top tether anchor, the "T" in the LATCH acronym which stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren. There's a good FAQ on LATCH at http://www.car-safety.org/latch.html if you'd like a more detailed explanation of the LATCH system. :)

You can retrofit up to 3 tether anchors in your '97 Pathfinder, but not lower LATCH anchors. The Nissan tether anchor retrofit part number for your car is 88894-89900 and retails for approx. $15 U.S. per part at Nissan dealerships according to my LATCH manual and this is supposed to be applicable for Canadian models as well. You can install up to three of these in your Pathfinder, which has three 8mm weld nuts under the carpet floor in the rear cargo area where you would install the anchors using a torque wrench.

I have a '99 Pathfinder (same model). The previous poster gave you all the info you need, but you can also find it in your owner's manual in the child restraint section. Be sure when you call the dealership you give the parts dept that #. If you don't they will not have a clue what you are talking about. They will probably have to order the part. The dealerships I called didn't carry the anchor instock.
