What's the RF and FF height limit on a true Fit? All the websites I have visited seem to only list the weight limit. My kids always grow out of their seats well before they reach the weight limit.

As a side note: this website has been awsome in educating me in the benefits of extended rear-facing and harnessing. I'm the pround new owner of a Natilus for my 4 year old and soon a True fit for my 19 month old. Thanks everyone.

The rf'ing height limit is 1" from the top of the shell. I don't recall the listed ff'ing height limit, but I can tell you that the top harness height is around 17.5" or so. Some have measured it as high as 18". Most kids will last in the harness until around the age of 5 or 6.

Just happen to have the TF manual here... ffing limit says 50 inches or less.

The top harness slot should get even the most long-torso'd child to approx age five in the harness. My son, whom does have a long torso yet recently grew some legs  would have made it to almost his fifth b-day. Your "average" child should get to age six or more in the harness. I can also see a child "expiring" it out since it does have a seven year expiration on it and if you start with one from the beginning, you really get your money's worth!

It *should* be helpful to compare height limits of seats when you're shopping, but it's not. Manufacturers are required to put them on there, but they really don't mean much. The torso height (seated height to tops of shoulders) is a much more useful number. Of the convertible seats, the True Fit and Radian have the tallest top slots and shells, and therefore will last kids by height longer than other convertibles. The weight limits are set in stone. The height limits are just guesses.

My 6 year old, 43 inch daughter has about 2 inches left below the top slots in both the TF and the Radian. She may have a smidgen more room in the TF...but she will outgrow them both (the Truefit is her sister's, we just tried it out) very close to the same time.
