I will be flying to RI where my mom has 2005 Alpah Omega Elite. It will be installed RF in 2003 Explorer passenger side. My daughter is 2yr 9mo 30lbs. My mom has the manual for the seat. My mom told me the seat RF to 35lbs if its 30lbs please let me know. Are there any tricks I should know about installing the seat Rf in a Explorer? I have installed it FF no problem. On the flight the 2yr old will be riding in her 5yr old sister's GN. The 5yr old will ride in the seatbelt on the plane.

It's definitely 35 pounds RF. I guess the only real trick to know is that it's often easiest to install if you take the base off and use a rolled towel or pool noodle for some recline. If you just can't do it and have to install it FF for a quick trip, just be sure not to have the headrest in the top position (you can only tell this from looking in the back, there are grooves for the metal bar to rest in, and the top one says it's for booster use only, so only use the second to top notch).

I doubt she will be at the the top of the harness slots. her torso is 13in. Then again I could be wrong and she could be at the tallest slot. If this is the case then i am sure I can borrow my aunt and uncles Truefit that they have for there grandson. I am not ready to FF yet. We will be there for 2 weeks.
Is it a pain in the butt to remove the seat from the base? If I need to remove the care seat from base am I able to use the LATCH or seatbelt only? I have tired looking up the manual for the AOE but its no longer available on Cosco's website.

There's just a tab on the side of the base that you move sideways and a long metal cross bar slides out, then the base comes off. The LATCH is just a glorified lapbelt, it goes through the regular belt paths and has nothing to do with the base, so that's good :). Yeah, she probably won't be at above the top useable slots. I didn't mean FF her the whole time, just if you can't get it installed at the airport or whatever and have to get home, just FF it for that one trip, since it's so easy to FF install :)

Thank you so much for helping me out, Joolsplus3. I would be okay for her to FF from airport to house if the seat was being a pain in the butt to RF at the airport. its a 45min drive on the highway. Thank you again and If I have issues I will be here on Saturday with pictures so I can get help if needed.
