I have a 96 Accord and want to have the top tether put in, I have the Regent which calls for it to be used. I called one dealership and they said I could buy it and install it my self, is that true and how would I know where to put it? Is there a place online to go to find it? The second dealership refuses to let me buy the part, I have to have them install it, which I would feel better about but can't afford. Each part is $15 and installing each one is another $30, for a total of over $130. Any advise for me??

You should be able to install the tether anchor(s) yourself with a torque wrench by following the instructions included in the owner's manual for your Accord to save on the labor charges. The Honda tether anchor retrofit part number for the Accord (and any other retrofittable Honda model) is 82410-SE3-C01, called a "plate assembly," and costs about $15 each just for the part at Honda dealership. To save more on the parts, you can google search to find online parts stores that sells the Honda part for a lower price, such as this one: http://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda-PLATE-ASSY__82410-SE3-C01.aspx

Post # 23 has a couple of pictures showing where to find the anchor pre-drilled locations in my Accord (2-door but essentially the same for 4-door too) http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=55311&highlight=accord+%2792

I have a 1992 Honda Accord and successfully installed my tether anchors a couple of weeks ago. When you call the dealership, ask if the parts are covered under any type of warrenty as mine were.

Thank you ladies! I checked my manual and it says the dealer is a liar and I can do it myself. I didn't think to check the manual for a part my car didn't have. I don't have anything on my back deck indicating where they would go, nothing that flips up, pops out, nothing. But in the trunck you can see where it has the bolts and bracket all set up and ready. I just need to poke the hole threw the cloth liner thing on my desk and bolt them on, and they wanted to charge me $90 buck to do that! Butt heads!
I called the dealer and spoke to the parts department and they wanted to know which rep told me that, since they knew I could do it myself. Well REED, your in trouble now! haha And when I pick my parts up tomorrow, for a total of only $45, I am going to tell him he is an idiot! No holding back! haha
