View Full Version : How long before Graco wakes up re: MR65 covers?

I went to BRU today and saw the My Ride- man, that's a chintzy cover  Even the display model cover was coming off the seat and it's super thin! Without the infant insert, it would be downright uncomfortable for my kids (they're used to a plush cover). It doesn't seem to be sized correctly for the seat, either, because of the fit.
The seat itself is great, but man, the cover sucks. I wonder when Graco is going to do a re-vamp?

I hope so... I agree with you.

I agree, I never had any problems with my safe seat 1 and the nautilus covers seem to stay on, I don't have one but have played with them.

I wonder if this a marketing tactic - that the first generation has cheap covers/padding and the deluxe/ultra/elite model comes out next with better covers & that 'Gracopedic' foam that they've used on other seats.

Not sure why Graco can't seem to make a cover that fits other than infant seats. My Nautilus is a total pain and it's only a back up seat. My friend uses hers daily and is so fed up with fixing the cover.

when i reviewed the seat, the cover was my #1 complaint. people kept thinking i was saying i didn't like the COLOR, but I tried to communicate--no! it's the quality! the quality of the cover and fit is totally lacking IMHO. it's basically a deal-breaker to me. even though i like most aspects of it better than the TF, I'm leaning towards a TF as our next seat, just because of the cover issue.

The cover is pretty awful, but without this seat my child would otherwise be forward facing. So...yeah, not that big of a deal to me.

Yep. I went and played with the MR too but I couldn't stand the cover. The fabric felt awful and I was the first to play with it and it wouldn't stay on. Deal breaker for me too. I got the true fit instead (and I  the cover, even with mesh) I might reconsider if DD2 hit 35 before 4 years AND there are better covers.

I am pretty sure it is that 'Gracopedic' fabric that makes DS sweat all the time in his SR. And it stains like crazy.

Gracopedic is the foam that's only on some seats under the cover (hence why it sounds like 'tempurpedic', it's a similar foam type). The covers are all polyester, so yeah, they can be kind of sweat inducing (so can sitting in a plastic bucket, lol).
It is just very bizarre how our floor model (at BRU) Graco convertibles (CS and MR) have horrible, falling-off-the-seat covers and the SRs are all just fine and stay on, though...you'd think they'd have it figured out by now, even on a new shape of seat...???
