A woman my sister wokrs with has and Audi A4 which she says only has an anchor for a top tether in the middle. She wants to install a nautilus outboard and the "carseat people online" told her to take her car in and have more anchors put in. I thought I read that if your car already has anchors they can't add more? Or is it that the dealership just won't pay for them.

Also, the Nautilus is for a 25lb one year old. I'm going to get my sister to talk to her anout rear facing but was wondering what the minimum age and weight for the nautilus is? TIA!

The minimum age and weight of the Nautilus is 12 months, 20 lbs and 'able to sit upright without assistance'. Obviously these numbers are absurd and dismally low. A one year old belongs in a rearfacing convertible.

As for the Audi, I'll need a model year to properly answer the question.

Sorry about that, I thought I had included it. It is a 1998.

Which convertible should I recommend to her? I guess I could try my True Fit in her car and if that works out tell her to return the nautilus and get one of those.

According to the 2009 LATCH Manual... she should have top tethers in all 3 rear seating positions. Tell her to check her vehicle manual for specific locations if she is having trouble locating them. That being said, that baby needs to be rear-facing, hopefully you can get through to her :(. I would give the TruFit a try and see if it works in her car.

She likely could have anchors added to that vintage of Audi. My uncle has a similar age Quattro and it came with one anchor pre-installed, and pre-drilled holes for two more.

HTH! :)

ETA: His is actually a '93.

The original one is installed at no cost to the owner (ususally). The other two she will probably have to pay for but it is possible.
