I have posted before but got no responce, so I hope this time I will.
I need to get 2 spare/second seats for my kids. We will be using them this summer for camping for that wthey will be in our truck a 2003 350 super duty Ford extended cab. DH measured the back seat and it's only 15" (prevouisly he measured it wrong at 24") So the Natiulis is out for sure. What else do I have for options?
DD stats are 15.5 " torso 46-47" tall, she has very long legs and 44-46 lbs turing 5 years old in August
DS stats are 11" torso not sure how tall? and 27 ish lbs. for him I was thinking the new 50lb AOE.
please please give me your thoughts :D
oh and I'm in Canada, please don't move this post to the international section, I got no responce there.

Can you daughter sit in a booster? If yes then I would recommend the Vivo. For your son I would recommend the Avenue.
Oh shoot... your in canada, I'm not sure if either of these seats are available

The problem is, many of us in the US aren't sure what all your options or prices are in Canada.
It might be a better idea to bump up your thread in the Int'l forum and possibly PM some of the techs and/or regular posters from Canada for advice (as they'll be more familiar with your available options.)

Only the Nautilus can't hang over the front edge of the vehicle seat. Other seats are allowed to hang over a bit, as long as 80% of the car seat is on the vehicle seat.
What seats are your kids in normally?

Any five point harness offers a lot of SIP. I wouldn't worry in the least about that aspect of the Radian.

Would TrueFits work for both of them? Try yours in the truck and see. If so, I'd probably get them. I think I've seen them advertised in Canada for $150ish.

Mods have opted to move this to the Canadian forum with a visible redirect from Carseat Chat so you'll potentially get double the looks at your thread combined with more Canadian-specific advice, best of both worlds. :)

We actually do have the Avenue in Canada now. It's on the Sears website.

Hi,
I don't no why you got no responses the first time. That's a bummer .
Anyway, you could try your dd in an Evenflo Generations. It has 17" top harness slots, but it's hard to say how your dd will fit in it once it's installed. TRU carries the Generations. Once she's mature enough for a booster (about a year or so?) it actually converts to a fairly decent highback.
For your ds the Scenera would work for a while. It's nothing fancy, but it works great as a spare seat. If you wanted to bump up the new AO it can be found for $120 when on sale. I'm not sure what I think about the Avenue up here... $150 seems a bit much IMO. Another option would be the Triumph Advance... its about $150 at walmart, and occasionally Sears has had it for $130ish.
If those aren't what you're thinking of and you still want more suggestions, post back with your max spending limit, and we can go from there. :)

oddly enough DD was soooo close to out growing the Generations we has we sold it and got the Frontier. She had only about 1/2 " to the top and close to the weight. I looked at the Senera and I agree that's too much for a seat that only goes to 40 lbs and I'm not sure what the top slots are on it.
I think my only option is the radian for DD, that or a booster and I don't really want to put her in one.
and what are your thought on Rfing in a truck with no teather?
