Can I use my UK car seat in Canada?

I am travelling with a 14 month old and would like to avoid the cost of renting a car seat if I can. Is it legal/safe to use my forward facing, 5 point harness car seat whilst in Canada? Or does anyone know where I can find this information out?

If you are just visiting Canada, you can use a European car seat. If you where to take up residency, you would need to purchase one. We don't ever advocate renting a car seat, there is no way to know for sure if it has been mistreated (washing straps, etc) or has been involved in a collision. Have a good trip!!:D
