It actually really gets my goat that patterns that are clearly meant for kids barely out of BABYHOOD are put on seats that really are intended for older children.

Boo.

ditto that, if they must make character things, they should be at the very least on a nautilus type thing...there should be mature designs/patterns/colors on booosters like skateboards or cute hearts/swirls for older kids urg...but the convertible seats? grey, black, charcoal and dark grey lmao

Oh, Emily, you are SUCH a mean mom. Seriously

No, not seriously ;). You're the best for not caving  Maybe they'd be appropriate at the dinner table, though? :D

I totally agree. My 4yo really wants the cars one. And if it were high back he might get it at some point, but its' not. :(

A few weeks back when the Sceneras were on sale for $39 at Kmart they also had the Cars backless boosters on sale. A mom of a just turned 4 year old was asking me if that would be a good seat to get him when we were looking at the ad at work. I explain the reasons it would not be and why he would be much safer in a 5pt harness. Don't know if she listened, but she asked so I answered. I hope she did listen. Although I know it happens, can't imagine such a little guy using it.

Last night at work she saw me reading on this site and told me that she just bought him 2 new car seats, a "full car seat" as she called it and a backless booster. I am guessing that the "full car seat" is a high back booster. I didn't ask because I figured I had already given her the info and if she didn't listen to me before she wouldn't after making her purchase.

I had a friend on another board who bought the Cars bottom and a full back model in coordinating colors and just put them together (they all have the same attachers in the back, so it worked) :D
