My parents said they saw on the news that Chrysler dealers were selling cars for 50%. They didn't know if it was just a few local dealers or nationwide. Anyone else heard of this?
I didn't think I'd buy one, but for half off...well, maybe my DH will scoop up one. It would have to be a SCREAMIN' deal to convince us though, because of the questions regarding warranty work (& Chrysler's quality, in general).
SO...has anyone else heard of this?

These may be some great deals if you are sure you want to drive this car until it dies. There will be a pretty poor resale value on these cars so don't plan on getting much money out of it in a few years by selling it or trading it in on a newer car.

From what I've heard they are saying great deals, but when you get there its not the case and/or not popular vehicles. I did the math b/c we were wanting to get a T&C or Caravan minivan, to see how good of a deal we would have to get to justify buying new, and it'd have to be very very good, like the half price you mentioned, which is not happening from peoples experience here. They depreciate so rapidly from what we've seen ($10K in the first year), that you may be able to get a great deal on a used one moreso than the new ones.

Oh yeah, trust me....I would have NEVER contemplated a Chrysler vehicle except if we could get it at a ridiculous deal. Even then, I'm not sure....

Only at dealers that are closing and having trouble getting rid of cars.
I checked a few places in CA and it's business as usual. Lotsa incentives, but nothing really different from a few months ago.

Meh, I figured as much. I'm really not a huge fan of them, but if we could snag one super cheap, it might be tempting. I'll have to do a bit more research on which dealers are closing in our area.

I drive a Plymouth Breeze and SO drives a Sebring convertible - so basically we drive the same car - both Chryslers. We've really liked them, but it's time for new ones. We've decided we'll probably NEVER buy anything new, though.
My grandmother was telling me that a friend of hers went in to by a new car and her AND her husband ended up getting one because they were so cheap.
