A couple of weeks ago, it was shown as sold out or out of stock, but they must have found a couple in the warehouse? The FPSVD is no longer extinct! (for now)

This is the one that is just like the Marathon right?? Can you use MA covers?? Probably not, but, would be nice....also since they are manufactured in '07 they only have 4 years left right?? TIA!!

August 2007 so 4 years and some change left. I dunno, with the new seats that have come out since then it's just not that good of a deal to me. :twocents: At least not at that price since the MR65 and TF are relatively the same price range.

I use a MA cover on my FPSVD, so yeah, they do fit, you just have to make the parental decision to do it or not.
I don't think it's that good of a deal anymore though. I think if someone wants a seat like that, it would be better to just get a Roundabout 50. Thats what I'm going to get in a few months.

:yeahthat:

I think it is a good choice, though, for someone who can't afford more than around $100, doesn't need a seat to last it's full lifespan, and really  the Britax style seat. Ours is in our secondary vehicle - we didn't want to spend too much since DD will outgrow her BV & MA in a year or two, and DS will get her BV & MA and the FPSVD will move on to a new home.

For the $130-150 price range, there are tons more options (MR, TF, ETFA, etc.), and definitely the RA50 or an onsale MA are super-great, but for more $.

The concern i have is if you have problems, these are entirely discontinued so getting replacement parts, etc could be a problem.

The stories I have heard are that if Britax doesn't have the parts, they send you a new Marathon though.

There has been offers of sending a new MA when you return pieces like the cover, harness, ect. Also, offers of a refund of your purchase price when you return pieces and a receipt. Also, offers for you to send in pieces of the FPSVD and they will sell you a MA for $100. I've heard all 3 come from different reps whom I have personally spoken to about my FPSVD troubles. I LOVED the seat (And DS insisted on it), but the cover was crap. ETA, my son now adores his BLVD ;)
