I have a friend who says she has a 2007 Toyota Corrolla and it doesn't have LATCH. Is this possible? I thought all cars as of 2003 had to have LATCH as standard.

She also has a 2002 Ford Escort and she says it doesn't have LATCH either.

'07 corolla has 2 outboard latch positions and 3 tether anchors.
depending on the kind of ford escort....looks like it really probably doesn't. she must not be looking very hard in the corolla. has she consulted the vehicle manual??

Perhaps she means - the center seat does not have LATCH. It is true that there is no center seat LATCH. Otherwise, she is mistaken... there are two outboard.

Sounds like there are no Lower Anchors, but there is a Top Tether in the center. She can still do a seatbelt install in the center and use the Top Tether.

I believe as of September of 2002 all vehicles were required by federal law to have two seats equiped with Lower Anchors and 3 seating positions equiped with Top Tether Anchors. So it's technically possible that her 2002 vehicle doesn't have Lower Anchors... but like others have said the Corolla does. :D

They don't stick out. She prolly looked at the backseat, didn't see em, and said, "guess I don't have them." Prolly never bothered to look for the little plastic circles and reach btw the seat cushions to find em.
