Has anyone ever used this kind of sling? I've been looking for something that's easier and quicker to put on than the Moby wrap. And not really wanting to spend $100 for something like the Ergo.

Well, I have both a Peanut Shell wrap and a Maya Wrap sling. Not the exact brands but similar to what you're looking at. I find the Wrap easier to get a solid/secure fit right away and the sling needing adjustments. It might just take getting used to. I don't use either daily. But lately I've been using the sling more often. The reasons....
1. Ease of transport
-- It's a little more compact and even if I don't pack it I can just sling it over my shoulder along with my diaper bag.
2. It's hot out!
-- My son is a sweatball! The sling is more of a canvas or linen feel and the wrap is t-shirt material. The sling also doesn't put his entire body against my chest keeping it a bit cooler.
3. It requires only one hand to put on so I never have to put my son down.
But I still use my wrap in the house where it's cool, part of the reason I stopped using it out is because I have the one with the rhinestones decoration on the front pocket and it has begun to lose some.

MamaJo,
I wear my dck part-time, in a variety of carriers (ring sling/stretchy wrap/woven wrap/mei tai etc.) I do love my RS for shorter carries and frequent in-outs... it's definitely easier to put on than a wrap.
Looking at your link, my only concern would be the rings. I'm not familiar with that brand of sling, and as such, I would be concerned with the quality of the rings. They may be just fine, but it's also possible that they're cheaper and may have a seam in them, which could separate on the weight of the child.
The style of the carrier is something I think you'll really enjoy -- but if you choose to order this one, just please, please check the rings when you receive it and make sure that they're solid, heavy-duty one piece rings (not craft rings or similar.) If they're cheap rings, and they fail, your child WILL fall, as that's the weight-bearing instrument in a sling.
I know there are some WAHMs (not me) that sell slings in that price range, with rings specifically made for slings, if you'd rather try them. I'm not sure what I'm allowed to post here, so I won't go any further than that. And again, that sling is *probably* fine, just make sure you check the rings carefully for integrity before use. (This (http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/fabric.html#rings) link talks a bit about proper rings, etc.)
Hope that helps. :)

I've used that exact sling before. I really liked it  A ring sling will be far less fussy to put on than a wrap, imo.

I ordered it since it was so cheap. If I don't like it, I'll just CL it. ;)

i'll just chime in to say that I've owned a LOT of carriers. (dozens, at least--of every kind, wraps, slings, pouches, MTs, Beco, Ergo, hybrids, yeah--I've had one.) in the end, i just go to my Ergo. i tried for a long time to avoid the $$$, but ended up spending MORE because of all the other lesser carriers that i tried before I took the plunge. not everyone loves the Ergo--but there is a reason it's basically the most popular carrier out there. many, many experienced baby wearers that i know end up selling their whole stash and paring down to their Ergo. just my :twocents:

Cool :) I hope you like it; I couldn't live without mine. Just didn't want to not put the ring info out there... would hate it if something happened and I didn't share a known concern. :) Enjoy!
