My DD is still RF in her BV, but I've done a lot of searching here lately regarding SUV's and car seat safety and which ones are more "family friendly." I've noticed lots of talk about the tether positions in the 2nd and
3rd rows. This is for FF correct? So when your DC is FF, the seat needs to be tethered?

The BV can be tethered RF as well

If you're in Canada, then yes the seat needs to be tethered FF to meet CMVSS requirements. If you're in the U.S., top tethering is optional when FF but strongly recommended. It reduces head excursion which means less chance of your child's head impacting the inside of the vehicle in a collision.

The BV can also be tethered RF, but you generally don't use the FF tether locations to do so but rather attach the tether to the seat tracks on the floor or some other metal piece attached to the frame.
