I am just trying to figure this all out now, so I know...I have a '06 Kia Sedona and T2 is in a Frontier, using LATCH, I cannot find in the manual what weight the LATCH goes up to, so I have to assume 40lbs., right?! He is currently 37.5 lbs. so I will have to switch to the seatbelt installation soon. Does anyone know if this is difficult to do, haven't tried yet, but want to know what to expect. He is riding 2nd row, behind passenger. Thank you!

Right, Kia didn't provide or specify a LATCH installation weight limit in Kia owner's manuals nor for the LATCH manual, in which case you need to follow the Frontier's specified limit of 40 lbs. when the vehicle manufacturer doesn't specify otherwise. I can't speak to ease of seatbelt installs in a Sedona. I found the Frontier's long belt path seatbelt installation method to be workable in our Sienna, FWIW. :) We do have some Sedona owners and/or techs with Sedona experience who might be able to guide you more specifically.

yes, the latch limit on the sedona's is 40lbs. I also have an 06 Sedona and my Frontier installs easy LBP in the captains seat

Great, Thank you!! I just wanted to know of any tricks before I attempted it. I was also secretly hoping someone would tell me that the Sedona had a 48 lb. LATCH limit, so I wouldn't have to change it!! It is so easy with the LATCH....I still have a little bit of time tho'. Thanks again!

No tricks needed, just thread it LBP, tighten and lock seatbelt.

Sorry to bump this, but it popped up in search...
So the definitive LATCH limit on a sedona is absolutely 40 lbs? I have an '07 and the manual doesnt state a limit at all.
I have a post advisory Regent and a Signo in there now.

No, but I like to be "better safe than sorry".
Kia has stated numerous times that they have no limit, and that they can hold anything of any weight. I asked about a Regent with an 80 pound harness and they said it wouldn't be a problem.
I don't trust that answer.
The seatbelt is designed to hold a LOT more, and while LATCH can definitely be more convinient, even cars with high LATCH limits will need seats installed with seatbelts eventually, so it's better to just switch earlier than to take a risk.
You can certainly call Kia to see what they tell you, but I was told twice - by two different people, including one who did extra research for me, that there was no limit.

thankyou!
So DD is in there with SBP latch right now at about 41-43 lbs fully clothed. You think I should go ahead and switch her?
*sob*
I really really hate SPB seatbelt installs. I just can't get it rock solid.:o or at least not "rock the van solid"

LBP works in the Sedona and is super easy in the captains chairs
I always recline the seat a little, buckle it in, tighten, and then push the seatback upright and it's "rock the van solid" in no time at all!

I wouldn't waste your time with SBP, LBP works in all rear seating positions for the Frontier.
Mama! with the Regents you will need to use SBP, sorry! Try reclining the seat and installing, then pushing the seat back up.
