We are having trouble getting a good install with the seat belt for a new Frontier that will be used in the harness mode. Our son is not quite 40 pounds, but close. We ended up putting it in for now with the Latch for the short term and its solid as a rock. But with the seat belt, the base has too much give it seems like. We used the short belt path, but the instructions seemed very confusing as to which method to use. What can we do to get a tight install, and what method should we use? It's going in an 06 Sienna, behind the passenger seat.
Thanks!

The long belt path seatbelt installation method will likely give you a tight installation according to other Sienna owners, myself included. :) I have an '05 8-passenger model and have installed using the seatbelt and long belt path in the second row center. Others have reported successful installs in other seating positions in their Siennas, too. You might need a second set of hands or a binder clip to help temporarily hold the seatbelt extended at the shoulder belt retractor just shy of engaging the retractor's locking mechanism while you thread the seatbelt through the long belt path and buckle it. Then lock the retractor after buckling. Otherwise the seatbelt starts to retract and robs you of enough length to reach to buckle it up.

Which belt path have you had sucess with in 06 Toyota Sienna in Captain chair behind passenger seat? I tried the short belt-path, but it doesn't seem to get a tight install. How have you all installed it? And does anyone know what the weight limit on Toyota LATCH is?

Hi, your earlier post was approved and has a reply in this thread at http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=84427 Toyota defers to the child restraint manufacturer's instructions for the lower LATCH anchor installation weight limit, which is 40 lbs. in the case of the Britax Frontier. I'm going to merge this post with your earlier thread to keep it all together for you now. :)

I don't have your vehicle but I thought I'd offer the tip I use with great success for installing my FN in our Element (Honda) I put the seat back one or two extra clicks (the vehicle seat) then I install the FN and make it as tight as I can and then put the vehicle seat back back where it belongs (more upright) it's hard and one time I had someone stand behind the seat to help push but using that tip makes it one of the most rock solid installs I've ever gotten on a seat.
Keep us posted on what you find. :-)
