I have a new Radian 65 (new foot style) and am installing rf outboard in a Sienna LE8. When I tug directly back and forth just right above the belt path, it feels fine, but it takes just a little push to put it completely wonky and out of wack if I push at all forward of the belt path--even just a couple inches. I took video to show what I mean. I took the video before tethering, then tethered, just to see the difference, and the tether doesn't make a difference in this, since it's toward the tether that the seat is moving anyway.

Here's the video: http://phillippefamily.smugmug.com/gallery/5321618_TUpW2/1/517939860_U8Kem

My ds didn't seem that fond of the Radian, and was kicking to get out. I'm not sure what I think. He said he likes his other seat better (Blvd). Here he is in both.

I got this seat so he'd have more leg room on a long trip we're going on in just one week, so I need to decide before then. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

At the beginning of the video you checked the carseats tightness correctly. Stop there. That's all you need to do. It looked to be installed just fine. The only other thing you can check for is front to back movement. I would just grab the belt path on both sides, and try to move the car seat from the vehicle seat...if it's less than an inch then you are good to go.

Okay, thanks. It seems weird to have it move so much like that, but I think I can see how physics-wise, it only matters at the belt path, since that's where the force will be in an accident. Although, wouldn't a rf seat with a heavier kid potentially have a lot of rotation around the belt in a side-impact?
