LATCH manual ?-Toytoa Sequoia

I was just asked if you can use LATCH in the center of an 05 Toyota Sequoia.

I know Toyota says no to center LATCH, but the manual makes it seem as if there is center LATCH in this model. I want to make sure I'm reading it right before advising the parent? (online forum, so I don't have the car manual to double check against)

I believe it's allowed in the second row if it has a second row bench because the '01-07 Sequoia is listed on the '09 LATCH manual's vehicle Quick Reference list on page 144 as having 3 or more designated LATCH equipped seating positions. (The '08 model is listed on that Quick Reference list, too, FWIW). This cross checks with the '05 model's listing in the Toyota section of the LATCH manual, where the version with the second row bench is listed as having full LATCH in the second row center and on the second row driver's side, with a tether anchor on the second row passenger side. :thumbsup: The third row is listed as having full LATCH on the passenger side, and a tether anchor on the driver's side, so no center lower LATCH installs in the third row, but it should be allowable in the second row. :)

I agree. That is a little confusing in the LATCH Manual. The manual makes it seem like the middle row, center seat does have LATCH available if its a bench seat, but its hard to say for certain.

They could always call the manufacturer to be sure either way.
