I have two Marathons. The older of the two has a clasp like lock off that I have no problem with but the newer one has a lever like lock off (the one that is currently shown on the Britax website) and I can't seem to get the belt to stay tight with this type of lock-off. In the matter of a few days the belt will somehow slip and I can move the carseat back and forth quite a bit while the lock-off is still in place. Is their some trick to this type of lock-off that I don't know about or is this a common problem? I don't have latch so there is no way to work around the lock off.

Thanks
Ashley

I tried to register and I kept being denied. It kept prompting that I was giving the wrong answer to the verification quiz.

I apologize for the trouble with registration. Automatic spammer registration programs have made things a hassle for everyone.

There are two separate verifcation quizzes. One is an entry box inside of a photo verification image in the middle section. In that one, you need to click the box near the arrow and enter the one or two word random phrase that appears in the image.

The second quiz is farther down and the answer is simply the word, "Safe".

Can you please provide some additional information- the make, model and year of your vehicle and the seating position would be useful. Depending on the seatbelts, it may be possible to lock the seatbelt in addition to using the built-in lockoff.

Also, if possible, please tell us the age and weight of the child and whether this install is front or rear facing. Thanks!

Hi...original poster here. I finally figured out the registration. My vehicle is a 98 Ford Explorer. I have the car seat in the forward facing position on the passenger side (back seat) with a 30 lb. child.

I have to wonder why they changed the design of the lock off because my older Marathon's lock off seems much more logical and works so much better.

Like I said, after a couple of days the installation gets really loose and I can actually slide the belt back and forth through the lock-off area by moving the car seat from side to side.
