Hello

I need someone's help here. While we were out today my daughter's (almost 5 years old) chest clip's plastic piece snapped off. To get home I clipped only the bottom - it should have a top and bottom piece to click but the top is what snapped off.

I got home and tried calling SKJP Radian to have them overnite this piece but they are telling me that is an optional piece and I can only use the crotch clip until I get this replacement in about a week.

Can someone else give me an opinion here? She had a toddler convertible seat that the clip lasted from when she was 1 to 4 and still didn't break, this one has maybe lasted 1 year.

Help please and thanks.

I'm sorry this happened. :( The chest clip is a pre-crash positioner for the harness, meaning it keeps the harness in place before a crash. It is actually designed to break away or move in a crash; it is not a critical piece of the seat in regard to restraining your child during a crash. There are European seats that don't even have chest clips.

That said, in the mean time, you can purchase a chest clip at a brick and mortar store until you get the SKJP clip in the mail. I believe Britax clips (or any IMMI clip) are an acceptable replacement.
