Ok, so I just practiced installing the graco snugride that I had for practice. I got it at a mom 2 mom sale and am not planning on using it....We have the seats for the twins in the mail--these ones:
So--I tried installing the snugride in my car last week and I took some pics and was wondering what you guys thought.

When you install with seatbelt, it gets tucked under that plastic part in the middle of the belt path on the base, same as the LATCH straps.

I can't see where the LATCH strap is when it's not in use--did you find the place to clip the hooks for storage? It's on the bottom of the base, one on each side. If I remember correctly, it's on the end opposite the belt path.

The locking clip is too far from the buckle. It should be as close as you can get it without touching, within 1/2 inch. Actually, your Grand Am  has lightweight locking latchplates, so it's probably not even necessary to use the locking clip at all.

On both the lap-shoulder and center lap-only installs, it looks like the belt stalk could stand to be twisted down some, but I can't tell for sure if it's strictly necessary.

On the baseless install, it looks too upright for a newborn, and likely to flip. I think you need some pool noodles or tightly rolled towels. And I believe the shoulder belt should not be under the belt path hook thing, only the lap belt should.

So what year Grand Am is that? The cover on that carseat is the one that would match the stroller I have.

Oh and baby's shoulders are below the slots. The harness must be at or below the shoulders for RFing, so you'll have to wait until baby grows some before using that seat. ;)

If I am identifying the carseats in your pictures correctly, it looks like you have a Safeseat and a Keyfit 30 coming in the mail for the twins. I think you should find those will install pretty easily as the both have seatbelt lock-offs on the base, which the Snugride does not have, so no locking clip needed.

Also, you never use a locking clip with a lap-only belt. Your car does have locking latchplates, so the seatbelts DO lock, just at the buckle rather than the retractor.

I didn't see a locking clip on the lap-only belt, only the lap-shoulder belt.

I wasn't wearing my contacts when I responded earlier (and aren't now) so it's entirely possible I saw something that didn't exist. :p lol
