I just got off the phone with CSN Baby and they said they have the new True Fit with ARB (in Cranberry) in stock. I didn't ask about the Blue Aurora. If anyone gets it would you please post pictures? I can't wait to see what it looks like. Now I'm thinking of getting that one instead of the BLVD.

I can't wait to order this seat. I'm waiting for a coupon code to get a discount. They seem to run promos for 5% off. I want to see if anyone ordered one and it actually shipped.

Well.. I have a preorder in for it at CSN baby and will definitely post pics whenever I get it but I was told it wasn't expected to be in stock until May?

I'd take "estimated fill date" (today!) to mean that they're shipping it then (again- today!)

Quick math... sell RA and BV to fund TF... I can do that!

I know, that's what I was thinking too! But I was trying not to get too excited. :o

I preordered mine from comfort1st. I got an email a couple weeks ago with the same fill date of April 4th. I just called and it got put back to May 4th :( I wonder if there's any way it will come sooner. It's blue aurora.

I just went to the CSN site and saw they changed the date. I'm so depressed. I wanted to buy it NOW!!! I don't know if we'll be able to wait until June.

that stinks...I don't think I can wait, becasue of my daughter's height...what in the world is taking them so long? I really want that one, but not sure how long I can hold out.

Yeah, a rep from CSN baby called me yesterday (didn't answer but they left a voice mail) and she said mid-July. :(

I'm seriously considering canceling for now too and getting one of the current ones. I was planning on getting one of each anyway...

For those of you who are going to buy the current model, where are you going to buy it from? I think we are going to go ahead and purchase 2 for our twins now. I really don't think we'll be able to wait until July. I found the Monet pattern on Amazon for $166 with free shipping. Is that a good deal?

Thanks,
Christie

I wonder what the resale value will be if I get the current one now, and then get the new one later?

I ordered ours (Chocolate) at wal-mart.com with dh's discount so it ended up being $162 w/ free site-to-store delivery. I looked around some for a cheaper one but didn't really see anything significantly less but I didn't check everywhere. :)

They've pushed the date back so often I wonder about the company's reliability. Don't think I will go with the True Fit after all. I just ordered my Britax Boulevard (2008 model) from Amazon for $220 not tax and free shipping.

I guess the way I see it, I'm glad they're willing to deal with unhappy customers/retailers rather than risk putting a seat out on the market and ending up with unsafe kids and/or recalls because of it. As frustrating as the delays are, I'm glad they're not rushing it just to get it out. :twocents:

ITA.

At the same time though, I don't think I'll be buying anything in advance anymore... My $220 is in limbo AGAIN. I wait tables for a living... I can't mess around with $220. :o

I wouldn't let that affect my decision making, personally. Most new car seats are delayed when they are new to the market. That's just the way it is, unfortunately. I'm still looking forward to the TF ARB.

Exactly. This boosts my confidence in the company. I am SO glad they aren't rushing it out just to have to recall or sit on it knowing there is something wrong. Ill wait for another year if it means a seat with no defects!

I just ordered my Britax Boulevard (2008 model) from Amazon for $220 not tax and free shipping."so often"? really? Have you actually been told an official "no holds barred date" from Learning Curve that they have missed several times?

Learning Curve has actually been amazingly fast and awesome at addressing consumer concerns (the seat touching the front vehicle seat, the install angle and incorrect wording on the French labels in Canada). I have been quite impressed with how fast they dealt with things.

And Britax has a history of seats not being release "on time" as well, so surprising that that was the company you ended up purchasing a product from. Of course they make great products, but they aren't any worse or any better than other companies on a seat release. For me personally, there are much more serious reasons to exclude a seat from purchase than an extended release date.

Wow:confused: I actually called them a couple of times and the first time was told that the release date would be in late February. Called them again and was told that it would be available by May. Anyway, I really wanted the TF ARB, but since it's not available yet and I really need a convertible car seat I decided to go with the BLVD. As far as reliability, I was referring to a reliable date since it appears that a lot of us have be holding off on buying other seats in hopes that the new TF would be available sooner than is now expected. I'm sure when the seat comes out it will be great. I would have waited for it if my baby hadn't outgrown her infant carrier because I think it is one of the safest seats out there.
I really can't speak to Britax's history of release dates.

I called/emailed many times, each time they made to state and restate that it was VERY subject to change, I think thats what she meant, as in they have never once, to me at least said that any date was set in stone.

I really can't speak to Britax's history of release dates. My apologies for misunderstanding what you meant by reliability.

I recall back when the Boulevard was getting released in Canada and retail stores gave me proposed dates, and certain Britax reps said "soon" and it never actually made it here before DD outgrew her infant seat. I don't think there's a company out there that actually knows when something will be released...they are just CSR's, they aren't the engineers, the best they can do is follow what their supervisors are telling them to say. They surely can't know how engineering projects really work in the real world.

Anyhoo, the current True Fit would have been another option for you as well. The Boulevard is a great seat (although not so great in Canada due to rear-facing weight and height here) but I hope you didn't discount the current True Fit due to the new True Fit's release date.
