My YDD's MA harness adjuster strap is fraying. It's DOM is 09/09/08 and I noticed it a couple of months ago (so, a couple months after I started using it). The buckle tongues are the plastic encased metal ones, not the whole plasstic pieces like my ODD's MA are (and her strap isn't fraying, but I never had it RF'ing either so I didn't have to adjust it by pulling it up). However, the buckle tongues wouldn't have anything to do with the harness adjuster strap, would they?

Should I call? Do I need to send a pic to them? Would they replace the buckle tongues as well for the "newer" ones?

COntact them and they'll send you a new adjuster strap.

I don't think the buckle tongue has anything to do with the fraying. The most likely cuprit, I would say, is when you pull on the adjustor strap, you probably have pulled it off to an angle rather than straight ahead. This is easier to do when rf as we are on the side of the carseat and the angle to pull the strap is awkward, etc.

When you have the strap replaced, try to pull it straight up/out and not to the sides where it would rub and fray.

Hmm, I always pull it straight up - not to the sides. Both side edges of the harness adjuster are frayed. I guess I'll call this week and ask!
