SafeSeat installation

I am installing my SafeSeat in my car (Toyota Corolla) and have a question. When I put the base in and tighten it, it doesn't move sideways or forward, but the front of the base (away from the latch) can move slightly up and down. Is this normal? My Snugride base never moved like that, and my marathon had a tether, so this feels not right.

I have to say, btw, that I looooove how easy it is to make the SafeSeat level!!!

Yes, it is very common with untethered RFing seats. You should only check for movement at the belt path. You need to get less than one inch of movement in any direction at the belt path.

The back will bounce, that is totally ok. Just make sure there is less than 1 inch movement side to side at the belt path.
