So - I am thinking about having DS's birthday at a local Gymboree play and music location. The price they have proposed is competitive with all other birthday party hosting locations.

But...they will throw in $50.00 of gymbucks along with it!

So - are these essentially like cash? So, if something costs $20.00 and I have $20.00 worth of gymbucks, I can use it?

For some reason, I thought you could only redeem them during certain times.

Teach me - oh wise ones!

I have never actually used gymbucks but this is from the other post about gymboree.

purchase #1: spend $50, get a $25 gymbuck = $50 of clothing for $50
purchase #2: spend $25 cash + $25 gymbuck = $50 of clothing for $25

so your total outlay is $75 for $100 worth of clothing.

With that said, I usually do better buying on sale with a coupon too.

I guess I am feeling like I'm getting $50.00 free because I would have already spent the same amount elsewhere to have a party there.

Heck yeah!! If you're gonna spend the cash anyway, get the Gymbucks.

Yes, you have certain times you can use them...it's called Gymbuck Redemption. But you could get $100 worth of clothes for $50.

If you're gonna spend the money for the party anyway....I'd take the Gymbucks. I mean, every bit helps, ya know?!
