I finally got my van. But I will make an official announcement when it's all ready to be photographed.

But in the meantime I have an issue.

It was advertised as a 2001 Windstar, but it's actually a 2000.
It has LATCH but no tethers. To me that doesn't make sense since they started using tethers before LATCH, right? But there's none, floor, seat, ceiling. And yes, they are real LATCH anchors.

I don't want to get rid of my Shannon Regent (LOL, but I'm sure some here do :p).

It's bad enough I have to use the RSTV until I get tethered, if I can :(

Oh, and the belts don't lock, I tried a few times, so I'm going to have to use a locking clip.

Please, please, please tell me this van can be retrofitted?
If so, may I please have the info to give to Ford?
TIA

Congrats on your new to you van. The 2000 Windstar has tether anchors on the crossbars below each rear seating position, they're under there, believe me, just a bit trickier to find compared to some vehicles. And it has locking latchplates so in theory you won't need a locking clip. :) If you have a manual front passenger seat, then the front passenger seat also has a tether anchor. Others with Windstars could probably post a picture of the tether anchor location to help you out, I know I have seen pictures posted here before. :)

:yeahthat:

I'm away from my desk and don't have my manual but I believe the 2000 Windstar has 6 top tether anchors, and all belts lock at the latchplate, no locking clip needed.

It's all been written, but yes, it does have tethers and locking belts.

My 2000 windstar has locking latchplates on all the seatbelts.

Oh wow, I felt those and said they could possible NOT be the tether hooks. And they are! YAY! A load off my mind. For now I will put Rachel driver side cause it's a bench seat. I will be looking for captains seats.
And I tried the belt latch plate to feel how it works. YAY! I'm happy now. Thank you :D

I hope you love your Windstar!! I have a 2001 and love it!! Is your Regent a post or pre advisory? (Sorry, I know you've said before but I don't remember.) I ask because mine is a post advisory and I can't get a good install in the captain's chair. I'd hate to see you buy captain's chairs and be disappointed. If you have any questions ask a way. Like I said I'm a Windstar fan although I know some here aren't. So glad you got a new ride I know it was a long trial. May it serve you well!:)

Thanks. I have both! I'm thinking of using the pre in the van and the post in the Sable, post installs better in the middle of the Sable anyway.

Ahhh, no more bending.

I was thinking of trading the bench for the captains seats, or should I keep the bench as well?
