Not with a seatbelt install, anyway. :( We had a better install in the 3rd row vs. captain's seat, surprisingly enough.
We talked about trying LATCH, but owner didn't seem to fond of that b/c of the weight limit and having to switch to seatbelts soon anyway. I've done a search and see if kneeling down in the seat vs. against and into the vehicle seat may help, but I don't see how that would have helped any. I think she's destined to buy new seats, unfortunately, and I hate telling people that, especially when they're new/er seats. Argh.
ANY other suggestions? Success stories and tips for a 2004?

It really does work to press down, not back. Also, it seems counterintuitive, but pull the bottom of the seat slightly forward of the bight (1-2") before pressing down. It made the difference between 4+ inches of movement and none at all in DH's car (not a Volvo).
Were you pulling the belt through the velcro slot? Also, if you don't have to have the vehicle seat in a particular position, you can recline, tighten, then pop the seat back up. It might take some force to get it back upright.

No, we were doing it with the shoulder/lap belt, so not through the velcro.
I guess we'll try again with the emphasis on the 'down' part and thanks for the tip on keeping it forward of the bight. I've never had so much trouble with a Radian, lol. Sheesh!

Using the slits in the cover (through the velcro) is really a good trick... you can really pull UP on that shoulderbelt at the buckle side to get the lapbelt really cranked down as you press down on the seat as pixels suggested.

You can go through the velcro with lap/shoulder. Just open up the slit on the same side as the buckle, get a good handful of shoulder belt, and tighten from there.
Did you try twisting down the buckle stalk?

Oh, I see what you mean about the velcro... I had pictured something different in my head. That may very well get another couple inches out, I hope!
It has rigid buckle stalks (ones that don't even slide back-n-forth even), so that's a no-go, or I think that would have helped tremendously.
