We are finally turning my 4 y.o. DD FF :( as she has less than 1 inch between the top of her head and the top of the seat shell RFing. She still only weights 32lbs.
We are installing her seat FF in a 2006 Town & Country van, in one of the captains chairs, using LATCH. We are a bit confused about whether the back of the car seat should be flush against the back of the van seat as this seems to make the base not fit flat on seat-- part of the base ends up not touching the bottom of the van seat.
If we put the car seat so the base is in complete contact with the van seat bottom, the carseat ends up looking more reclined, and then part of the carseat back is not touching the van seat back.
My inclination is to put the back of the carseat as flush with the back of the van seat as possible, from the standpoint it is safer to be more upright when FF. Am I wrong? Would we need to put anything under the base to make up for where it doesn't make contact the van seat if that is right?
Are there any other tips or advice for installing FFing?
