Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to get a seat installed too tight with latch. I just got my DD a Nautilus and w/latch in my car, the seat doesn't move.

I also installed one in a 1993 Honda Accord w/the locking clip. I had to twist the buckle (the part that comes out of the seat) several times. I am still not sure if it is secure. How much wiggle from side to side is acceptable? I will definitely be taking this car to have it checked.
Thanks.

As long as there's less than an inch of movement AT THE BELTPATH, you're fine. Only check where the seatbelt/LATCH goes through, and use your non-dominant hand to give a light/moderate tug.

It's not possible to get LATCH too tight as long as you only use human strength (as opposed to using a belt-tightening device or the likes).

I have heard to use force similar to a firm handshake. Not a wimpy attempt at moving it, but not yanking it, either.

Oh, you said you had to twist the female buckle several times. How many times? Up to three full twists is allowed, no more.

Check for movement at the belt path, both side to side and front to back.
